Aral Pinoy ay Pagaaral na Alagang Pinoy. Aral Pinoy is dedicated to education for life-giving relationships. This is inspired and born out of helping and working with the marginalized sectors of our society since my seminary days.
Aral Pinoy as a non-stock, non-profit and non-partisan organization is born out of making a vital difference in the lives of our kababayan (countrymen/women), which has always been my intention, and as Aral Pinoy's Convenor/Founder, I dream that one day if God’s generosity allows, I will build schools in the rural areas, schools for life that empower them.
Today, education is an urgent call to action for and by the rural poor: the indigenous people, the rural women, the fisher folks, the farmers, the rural youth, the elderly, persons with disabilities and the informal sector.
Thus, I commit myself to the following mission elements as an alumnus of Asian Social Institute:
1. self-empowerment of people especially the marginalized sectors;
2. deepening of spirituality from various religious persuasions;
3. using and developing a tool (social science, philosophy, theology,
education, anthropology) for social transformation; and
4. keeping and sharing the wisdom of one's cultural values;
and to live by the institute's vision of social transformative praxis towards justice, peace and integrity of creation.
